Wednesday 21st May the was 25th Anniversary of National Simultaneous Storytime. The Prep to Grade 4 students were among 2,204,658 participants to take part in reading The Truck Cat.
The Truck Cat is a story about cats and humans, immigration and identity, and homes lost and found. Students were able to join online live to listen to the author, Deborah Frenkel, read the book to everyone and explain about the journey she went on to create the book.
Danny Snell, the illustrator, then taught the students how he went about drawing ‘Tinka the cat’ and demonstrated how to draw the cat step-by-step. The students completed different activities in relation to the book.
Primary Cross Country saw many of our students put in a great effort to complete the run.
We congratulate those students who have qualified to represent our regional on 27th May in St Arnaud as noted in last week's newsletter (from the senior competition).
