VA & PA Assembly
Last week we celebrated some of the past events and happenings around the college as well as our final CHRIST Value and Principal award winners for the end of Term 3.
Campaspe Athletics
Well done to the 30 Secondary students who represented the College at the Campaspe Secondary Athletics Carnival in Bendigo on Monday! There were plenty of ribbons won, personal achievements celebrated and, most importantly, lots of smiling faces throughout the day.
R U OK Day
Our College community came together on Thursday 10 September to recognise R U OK? Day and promote the importance of connection, conversation and looking out for one another.
Throughout the day, students and staff took part in classroom activities and discussions focused on checking in, listening and supporting others. Students also enjoyed hot chocolates, while our wider school community could support our wellbeing initiatives through the special cookie sale and morning tea and coffee station.
A Chat Station provided students with an opportunity to connect with a trusted adult, while students were encouraged to add a splash of yellow to their school uniform in support of the day.
Thank you to everyone who helped make R U OK? Day a positive and meaningful reminder that a simple “Are you OK?” can make a big difference.
Ask. Listen. Check in.
Year 9 Art
Students created a ball point pen portrait of a family member, friend, themselves or another person inspired by the portrait style and techniques of Vernon Ah Kee. Students demonstrated understanding of portraiture, shading techniques, line, tone and artistic expression.

Students explored the vibrant colours, patterns and mark-making of Emily Kame Kngwarreye’s Big Yam Dreaming. In their Visual Arts Diaries, they created small sample artworks inspired by her distinctive style, experimenting with colour, texture and movement while developing their own creative responses.
Fishing Elective Adventure!
Students headed down to the river for our Fishing Elective and had a great time getting outdoors! The water level was higher than normal, and unfortunately, the fish weren’t cooperating Tuesday.
No fish caught, but plenty of fun — and only a little bit of slipping in the mud!
Sometimes it’s about the adventure, not the catch!
Woodwork Elective
Our Woodwork Elective students have been busy developing their practical skills and creativity through a range of hands-on projects. Students have been working on constructing bird boxes and phone stands, learning skills such as measuring, cutting, assembling and finishing.
It has been fantastic to see students take pride in their work while developing their confidence, problem-solving skills and attention to detail. We look forward to seeing their completed projects!
Radio Interview about Debating
A big thank you to EMFM 104.7 Echuca Moama Community Radio for having Mr Sourgen, Amelia, Lachy and Edna on air to chat about their recent debating experiences.
The students shared their thoughts on debating, their recent competitions and what they have enjoyed about developing their public speaking and argumentation skills. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to represent the College and share their experiences with the wider community.

9/10 Science Dissection
Our Year 9/10 students enjoyed an exciting hands-on learning experience in Science, getting the opportunity to dissect eyes and explore the different parts of the eye.
Students were able to see first-hand how the structures of the eye work together, making connections between their classroom learning and real-world anatomy. It was a fascinating and memorable practical lesson, with students demonstrating curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the activity.
