Milo's Surprise Birthday Party in Prep/Grade 1
Prep and Grade 1 students enjoyed a fun surprise birthday celebration for Milo the Monkey in class this week, with all of Milo’s friends invited!
Through this engaging storybook, students explored the sounds and letters of the alphabet—an important first step in learning to read. As Milo invites his friends to his party, children discovered that each character introduces a new letter and sound, while searching the illustrations for clues about the special surprises being prepared.
A joyful and interactive way to build early literacy skills!

Year 8 Food Tech - Chinese Lemon Chicken
Year 8 students explored the reasons behind early Chinese immigration, including the gold rush and the search for new opportunities.
To connect their learning with culture, students prepared and presented a Chinese-inspired dish—Lemon Chicken—developing practical cooking skills while celebrating the rich culinary traditions of Chinese communities.
Japanese Exchange Students
We have loved hosting the Japanese exchange students over the past week and a half. They have had a wonderful time experiencing life with their host families and participating in school activities.
During their stay, they have enjoyed a wide range of experiences, including joining PE classes, decorating boomerangs, exploring the Campaspe River, visiting Bendigo, and riding the Bendigo trams. They also visited Kyabram Fauna Park, the Port of Echuca, and took a ride on a paddlesteamer. Other highlights included cooking Australian food, scones, and going fishing.
A big thank you once again to Mrs Donna Metelmann for coming in to teach ESL classes. We truly appreciate the time and support she has given to our visiting students.
