2/3/4 Billabong Ranch Camp
Over three action-packed days, the 2/3/4 students, Mr Davey, Mrs Rudduck and Mrs Broad headed off to camp at Billabong Ranch. They took part in a wide range of fun and challenging activities including the low ropes course, pedal boats, mini golf, archery, bouldering (rock climbing), bungee trampolines, camel rides and beach volleyball.
Camp was a wonderful opportunity for students to build on their confidence, teamwork and independence while creating lasting memories with their friends. They had a fantastic time and there was lots of buzz and excitement when the campers arrived back on Friday, despite being a little bit tired also.
BEACON Leadership Day
Our incredible Beacon Leaders attended the BEACON Leadership Development Morning on Friday 20th February!
This was a fantastic opportunity for them to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence in new environments, and further develop their public speaking and leadership skills.
We are so proud of the way they continue to grow and represent our school community so positively!
Secondary Chapel
During Chapel we were joined by Nate Symes from Youth Alive!
Live music, interesting games, and an inspiring message to be courageous and just take a step forward in your faith!
Year 7/8 STEM
In STEM, our year 7/8 students are hard at work designing innovative prototypes to solve everyday problems we face in our world!
From brainstorming creative ideas to building and testing their designs, they are developing critical thinking, teamwork and problem-solving skills that will shape the future. We love seeing their creativity come to life!
Year 8 Food Tech: Sausage Rolls
In a recent lesson, Year 8 students explored the influence of European migration—particularly from England—on Australian food culture. Students learned how British food traditions helped shape many dishes still enjoyed today. To apply their learning, students prepared and presented classic sausage rolls. The sausage rolls were thoroughly enjoyed by all, even staff!
Year 9 Pop Art: Andy Warhol
In a recent Art lesson, Year 9 students explored the bold and colourful style of Andy Warhol. After learning about his use of repetition and vibrant colour contrasts, students created their own Warhol-inspired portraits.
Using a single image repeated in sections, they experimented with striking colour combinations to capture the essence of Pop Art. The results were eye-catching and full of personality, demonstrating excellent creativity and confidence in using colour.
